Vibe is a self-service TV ad buying platform that was founded in 2021 by Arthur Querou and Franck Tetzlaff. The company, which officially launched in September 2022, uses AI to help brands create and place ads on streaming services like Tubi, Paramount+, and Sling TV.

“For far too long, SMBs have been locked out of TV advertising while massive corporations dominate the airwaves. It’s the millions of SMBs that hold the key to untapped growth,” said Arthur. “Enabling this underserved market isn’t just important—it’s critical to the future of the advertising ecosystem.”

Using purchase signals and behavioral data, Vibe.co creates consumer profiles to match brands with advertising space on streaming platforms. This recommendation engine efficiently matches the correct product to the most receptive viewer, resulting in campaign performance that “outperform traditional TV segments by a factor of four,” according to company reports.

The platform also includes an AI-powered video editor to create ad content, enabling users to track and optimize the performance of their ad campaigns.

“We believe Vibe.co is building the infrastructure for the next generation of advertising on TV, where campaigns are created and optimized by AI, measured with real outcomes, and accessible to brands of all sizes. Vibe.co is uniquely positioned to lead the transformation of CTV into a true performance channel.” said Querou.

Vibe’s product suite includes AI-enabled campaign optimization, ad assistance, marketplaces, generation, and more. The company is already the most widely used CTV ad buying platform, trusted by over 5,000 brands and reaching more than 120 million households across 500 apps and channels. Vibe has also surpassed a $100 million revenue run rate this year.

Vibe has now announced a $50 million Series B investment round. The all-equity round was led by UK-based investor Hedosophia, an early backer of Spotify, Uber and Alibaba, and included participation from Revolut CEO Nik Storonsky’s fund QuantumLight. Supercell CEO Ilkaa Paananen’s fund Illusian also participated, as well as European VCs Singular and Elaia. It brings total funding raised by the startup to nearly $80m.

1. Opportunity Slide

Too many aspiring entrepreneurs get caught up in the idea that success depends on building something “revolutionary.” The reality is that entrepreneurship in its purest form isn’t about creating a groundbreaking product or developing a cutting-edge technology. It is about understanding the context of customers’ problems and solving those problems in the most efficient and convenient way possible.

Although big ideas and groundbreaking innovations can create incredible value, they are also rare, difficult to execute, and often depend on factors outside a founder’s control, such as timing, funding, or market readiness. This is why entrepreneurs should focus on solving the kinds of problems that people care enough about to pay to have solved.

In the case of Vibe, the company isn’t inventing a new technology, as advertising has existed for decades, but it has carved out a fresh niche in the market by addressing a real problem for small businesses— one they value enough to pay for. It’s just a matter of convincing investors that the opportunity is lucrative and worth investing in sooner than later. The opportunity slide does this by highlighting the growing share of streaming in consumer entertainment spending and backing it up with growth figures from the McKinsey Global Institute.

The slide’s design is simple, with lots of white space, and a card-based design keeps the content from feeling overwhelming. The layout also attempts a logical flow from data-driven proof on the left to strategic implications on the right. However, the slide could be enhanced by improving the visual balance. For example, text boxes on the right lack supporting icons to guide the viewer’s attention. Overall, the slide feels credible and informative, but a more balanced layout and clearer emphasis on the key messages would make it even more persuasive.

2. Product Demo Slide

For an entrepreneur, the product is like a baby. Of course they think it’s beautiful and exciting. To a venture investor, though, all the baby pictures kind of look the same. As a result, they aren’t really interested in knowing all the small details about the product and generally don’t like to see a product demo in the first meeting. However, exceptions would be products where user experience or visualization are truly core elements.

Demos also have a high tendency to go wrong and founders can lose valuable time switching between a deck and demo. It’s really about weighing risk vs. reward; a demo can be super effective (especially if the product is difficult to understand), but it can also backfire and burn a lot of time in an initial pitch.

If you decide it’s worth showcasing your product through a demo, then the focus should solely be on key product aspects that drive unique go-to-market edge or sustainable competitive advantage. Don’t forget, a pitch deck is just a first step — founders are likely to get into a much deeper product review during the diligence process, so don’t attempt to ramp up investors on the nuance of your product at this point.

Vibe’s pitch deck is a good example of how to keep the demo simple and straightforward. It illustrates the platform’s interface, doesn’t go into complex technical details, and focuses on meaningful and impactful features and flows. This gives investors a good understanding of the platform and how it works.

3. Customer Retention Slide

In this age, there are so many different brands to choose from, creating a tedious purchase decision process for customers and reducing brand loyalty. Businesses need to focus on creating an effective customer retention strategy to retain their existing clients.

A good customer retention strategy allows a business to maximize the value of its existing customers by increasing revenue and average order value. It also helps minimize customer acquisition costs (CAC), which is widely known to be one of the most expensive parts of a customer engagement strategy.

In addition to being one of the major expenses for startups, investors understand that CAC can also be used to determine the overall health of the business because it demonstrates the short- and long-term viability of the venture. If the CAC is lower than the customer lifetime value (CLV), you’re likely to have a profitable business model that can sustain growth. In other words, you can keep acquiring customers and scaling your business without worrying about running out of money.

As such, investors love startups that have low CAC and high CLV. If you demonstrate that you have those assets, you can greatly increase your chance of funding. Vibe’s customer retention slide shows how clients find success with Vibe, stay with them, and grow their advertising budget. The slide keeps things simple and uses charts to show their growing customer retention without needing detailed explanation.

Although the client names are redacted for privacy, the clean, minimal layout keeps the focus on the data, while the use of Vibe’s brand colors creates a cohesive and professional look. However, despite being visually appealing, the background shapes are slightly distracting from the core data; toning them down or blurring them more could improve focus on the message.
